The Northern Neck lies on the west side of the Chesapeake Bay between the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers.  The Middle Peninsula lies between the Rappahannock and the York Rivers.   Those of us who have lived in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula know something which the rest of the world is just finding out.  This is one great place to live!

The weather is lovely, with four seasons but mild summers and winters.   Many people here choose to maintain a quiet lifestyle, enjoying the locality's many natural benefits.  Our towns are small, but the cultural advantages of Richmond, Norfolk, and Washington are only an hour or two away – available when you wish to use them. 

The tranquility seems to attract artists, gardeners, and those interested in  community involvement.  For more active lifestyles,  recreational possibilities abound - golf, tennis, and, of course, boating.  The magnificent Chesapeake Bay and its many tributary rivers—Potomac, Wicomico, Piankatank, North, East, Ware, Severn and York—offer sailors, cruisers, fishermen, and kayakers enjoyment for many months each year.  There are innumerable creeks, coves, and inlets to explore.  Several regattas throughout the year attract competitive sailors from far and near.

Many people moving here are retiring from professional life in other places.  The naturally friendly Virginians welcome newcomers graciously.  Once here, families tend to remain for generations.

The area abounds with history.  Whatever your interest, the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula have many things which will fascinate you.  It is a hop, skip, and a jump to Williamsburg and Jamestown, to Yorktown, to Richmond, and still only a day trip to Monticello or Mount Vernon.
